Abby Smith helps businesses analyze and develop comprehensive business contracts. She specializes in drafting contracts for businesses in the technology, healthcare, distribution and manufacturing industries, including manufacturing, technology, licensing and consulting agreements. Many contracts involve business conducted internationally and she works to best align contract language with a company’s risk strategies. Additionally, she drafts internal business documents including detailed agreements with shareholders, executive compensation plans and employment documents. She also assists businesses with structuring and expanding their organization, including drafting corporate governance procedures, joint venture agreements, merger and acquisition agreements and asset sale transactions.
Prior to joining KPPB LAW in 2016, Abby served as a corporate contracts analyst for ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corporation where she managed the contract execution process of construction and commercial service agreements. She previously served as a legal assistant with Mizerowski, Thon & Parker, P.C.
During law school, Abby was a student attorney and research assistant with the Georgia State Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. She also interned with the Georgia Capital Defender, Appellate Division; the Fulton County Business Court; and the Administrative Offices for the Courts of Georgia.
Abby grew up in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a member of the Georgia State Bar.
Abby earned her joint juris doctor and master of business administration degree from Georgia State College of Law. While a law student, she received a CALI award (Tax Clinic II). She earned her bachelor’s of business administration degree in finance from the University of Georgia.
