Kirtan Patel advises businesses involved in the acquisition, development and management of hotels, apartments, gas stations, shopping centers, offices, golf courses, senior assisted living facilities and condominiums. His legal team has participated in more than $5 billion dollars in hotel transactions. His clients include real estate developers, owners, managers and lending institutions, entrepreneurs and foreign companies doing business in the United States.
Kirtan also counsels clients on various complex real estate finance matters, such as CMBS financing; mezzanine financing; private equity investments; fund formation; conventional and government guaranteed financing; as well as restructuring and workouts of loans. He regularly consults with business owners regarding company and partnership structures, including partnership disputes. Kirtan advises clients on U.S. inbound international investments; as well as drafts and negotiates joint-venture agreements among U.S. companies doing business internationally.
Kirtan has been an independent business owner since age 20. He has also worked for 2 large full service law firms before becoming a founding partner of KPPB LAW in 2003.
An alumni of Leadership Atlanta (Class of 2005), Kirtan earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 1997 and his bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry from Georgia State University. He is a member of State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms and the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia, which he helped create. He is affiliated with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. Kirtan speaks Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu and Punjabi.
